Youth Breakaway Camp 1 & 2
About
Breakaway Camp is an annual 5-day (4 night) summer camp for teens, purposefully designed to provide opportunities for students to explore faith in an environment suited for spiritual growth and the development of meaningful relationships with peers and mentors, amidst all sorts of excitement. Breakaway continues to serve as a strategic tool for youth pastors to provide discipleship to their students and connect with their teens outside of the regular weekly routine. As many past experiences indicate, Breakaway has the potential to serve as a catalyst for spiritual growth for both individuals and groups.
Dates:
Youth Breakaway I - Monday, July 3 - Friday, July 7
Youth Breakaway II - Monday, August 21 - Friday, August 25
Registration:
- YB 1 registration deadline is June 4 at a cost of $240, and
- YB 2 registration deadline is July 23 at a cost of $240.
Bus transportation is provided to and from the camp site for YBI (and possibly YBII) (Emmanuel Convention Centre in Lewisporte NL) at a cost of $65/student.
Payments can be made via EMT or at the Church Office. Send EMT to give@bethesda.ca and put student name and YB in the memo.
Bus to YB departs at 10am. Be there at 9:30 for load in.
Camp age designations are as follows:
• Youth Breakaway I registrants must be in Grades 6-8 as of January 2023.
• Youth Breakaway II registrants must be in Grades 9-12+ (up to age 20) as of January 2023.

About The Costs
Actual registration cost for this camp is $260 per student, we have decided to subsidize our students costs by $20 each to make the camp more manageable for families to afford.* The bus is the recommended method of travel, but if you’re in the area of Lewisporte as a family and prefer to drop off and pick up directly at the camp, feel free to do so with the awareness of Pastor Crystal. Read the Waiver/Permission document throughly to ensure you’re aware of proper pick up and drop off times.
If the $200 registration and $50 bus fee’s are too substantial for your current financial circumstances, please contact Pastor Crystal to discuss sponsorship.
Donate
If you would like to sponsor the cost of a student attending this camp, please provide $260 for the full cost of a student plus $80 bus fee, or give what you can. If giving online, select Youth Registrations as the area to designate your giving. You can also give on a Sunday via the debit machine, or cheque/cash in an envelope and note ‘YB Sponsor’ on the envelope.
*The $20 per/student subsidy off the top of the registration is at the expense of the Lytehouse Youth Ministries Annual Operating budget. Students who do not attend Lytehouse and who wish to register with our group for the sake of the subsidy may be asked to pay the full registration cost.
