Resources for Families

These are resources that we hope will assist you as you continue to build your relationships with your youth. It is our goal to provide resources that give you practical help as well as insight into your student, their uniqueness and the world they're immersed in. If you have a desire to see a specific topic included in our resources, please let Pastor Crystal know.

We will continue to update this page.

Disclaimer: These are for informative purposes and hope to help inspire you into making well prepared and educated choices in relation to your student. The resources linked here are not all Christian nor are they the absolute answer to the specific topics addressed.

Phase Guides

Every 52 weeks, your child is changing, and it's hard to keep up. Phase Guides help you discover what’s changing about your kid, the 6 things your kid needs most, and 4 conversations to have each year to make the most of every phase in your child's life.

Smart phones & jr High's

North Point Community Church provides this Smart Phone Guide as a resource for the parents of their Junior High Students.

If you're just beginning the though process of providing your student with a mobile device, this resource has some great tips for language to use and rules and responsibilities to put in place.

We have placed it here, in case you may find it to be of use. You may decide to not use any of the suggestions here, or you may decide to pull one or two ideas to make them fit your student and your expectations.

FREE BIBLE APP

We encourage our youth to read the word of God. We often reference the YouVersion Bible App in our services. This is a free app that is available for any mobile device. We would love it if you could encourage your youth to download this app and add Lytehouse Youth as a connection/friend. This will allow us to see and encourage their Bible reading.

Also, we sometimes read through devotionals on this app as a group and utilize the events section of the app for sermon outlines/notes.

Cell Phone Agreement

Most of us are attached to our phones more than we’d like to admit. Sometimes, we even call people with them.

This Cell Phone Agreement from Orange Leaders is intended to equip families with this FREE downloadable resource to help them talk about what a healthy relationship with their phone looks like. In this Cell Phone Agreement, Orange Leaders have put together some expectations for caregivers and kids to talk through—both for how/when a kid uses their phone, and for how/when a caregiver uses theirs.
