On October 23rd, we are relaunching LYM: In Real Life (meaning, in-person gatherings)! Because of current social regulations we have had to make some decisions/adjustments that will help us do this with distancing, gathering limits, and safety in mind. We will also be doing our absolute best to ensure that Lytehouse feels as much like Lytehouse as possible, and if you know our team - you know that they’re creative and will do their best to ensure that LYM is welcoming, inspiring, and a wonderful place to be!

These videos give an overview for both Students and Parents, that will be important to consider before attending an LYM: In Real Life!

Special Note: Parent waiver to be added. Registration for Friday, October 23 will open on Monday.

Aside from the adaptation of new regulations based on Physical Distancing and safety, the main change we have to adapt for is based on the announcement that we are permitted only 48 people (students and leaders included) in our space at a time. As you may know, and as we have outlined in the videos above, we regularly exceed that number at a regular LYM event (prior to the COVID shut down). We are required to register students prior to each event, and knowing that one event would fill up quickly, some students would remain left out regularly, and additional problems and concerns. So we have made the decision to create an LYM schedule where we basically have two groups who may participate in events bi-weekly. For example, our Jr. High Students (Grades 7-9) will attend one Friday, and our Sr. High Students (Grades 10-12+) the following Friday. We believe that this is a great way to start and are hoping that the division of Jr and Sr high will allow us more intentionality in how we lead the students of each group, catering more directly to their distinct age-group, needs, etc.

WAIVER

In order to attend a LYM event, parents/guardians are asked to read our waiver throughly, and sign it as well as their students. This outlines more details of what is expected and ensures parents/guardians are aware that their students will be in that space, and have granted their permission.

REGISTRATION

Prior to an LYM event, students must register online. This is a regulation that we are abiding by. Registration will close at 11 AM on the Friday of the event. Unless an event fills up before that, in which case students may join a waitlist in case someone cancels. Registration will be available each week for the upcoming event. A text will be sent out with details. Students sign up by texting LYM to 709 701 3336, Parents sign up by texting Lytehouse to 709 701 3336.

Lyte-Groups

We had begun to implement small groups called Lyte-Groups in the fall of 2019. These are discussion groups following our services where students hang out with Young Adult leaders and discuss the message, life, and pray together. In this new season, these lyte-groups (determined by grade) will become their specific socialization group for each time they attend LYM. This means that when grade 7’s arrive, there will be designated spaces specifically for grade 7’s (and their leaders). There should be no cross-over between grades. These designated spaces include any mingling prior to the service starting, sitting in the same section of the sanctuary, being in a post service lyte-group together, etc.

COVID REGULATIONS

Students are expected to adhere to physical distancing (6 ft) at all times. Students are permitted to sit next to people within their bubble who are within their Lyte-Group (bubbles can be identified on the waiver). Students are also expected to adhere to the posted directional signage, sanitize/wash hands regularly, wear a mouth/nose covering (properly worn - covering both), and to do a Covid Self-Assessment prior to attending (and stay home if exhibiting symptoms).

Grade 9 & Grade 10

If a student is currently in Grade 9 and the majority of their friends are in grade 10+ they may choose to attend the Sr. High LYM events instead of the Jr. High, with your permission. If a student is currently in Grade 10 and the majority of their friends are in grade 9- they may choose to attend the Jr. High LYM events instead of the Sr. High. This must be determined on their waiver, and must be adhered to for the remainder of the 2020 year (unless regulations change). These students will be placed in the Lyte-group closest to their actual grade. This is not an option for students in grades 7,8,11,12,12+.

FOOD

For your information, we are not permitted to prepare and serve food onsite. We are allowed to serve pre-packaged food, or food prepared and packaged by a restaurant establishment.

FUN

We are committed to making LYM an atmosphere that will be enjoyable! We can’t wait to see our students and grow in faith, leadership, community, and be silly together! Have concerns? Please email Pastor Crystal.
